Bits and Pieces

BBQ at Mamzar Park …

Abaya sleeve details …

And of course, blue and silver  slippers …

AND, I really had to post this one …

This was Yemen’s presentation for the Global Village this year.  And they had ONE spectator, who seems engrossed in their performance.

    Assalam o alaikum.

I had some issue with my by blog dashboard. Deleted the blog by mistake.

I am now re writing all the posts slowly on this blog.

Walaikum Assalam, Asma. I’m so sorry about the deleted blog. I know how much love and effort you’d put in compiling all the text. And thank you for providing the link to your new blog.

I love when kids go right up the stage and watch in wonder at performances, it’s so cute! 😀

Congrats on your sister’s engagement!! (just saw the last post!)

  8. Haris Gulzar says:

I thought the boy was looking at a picture and not the real performance? And the BBQ looks delicious :-)…

  9. This blog is quietly transforming into a photoblog…which is really good 🙂

The water body running through the city in the Yemen picture somehow resembles the Creek that runs between Deira and Bur Dubai.

    • nadia says:

Yes, I AM turning this into a photo blog (with an occasional ‘regular’ post every now and then).

LOL .. yes, it looks like the Dubai Creek of the 80’s, except perhaps for that mountain on the left.

  10. Mezba says:

Ah BBQ…. we still have to wait for 2-3 months for that here.

I feel sad for the performers, with no one caring!

    • nadia says:

And our BBQ season ends in 2-3 months 😀

The performance by Yemen was slow and boring, plus the performers looked like they wished they were somewhere else. If only they’d put some enthusiasm into the performance, more kids would’ve lined up 😀

the BBQ looks scrumptious and so do your sandals but obviously in different manner 😉
