The Surfing Kangaroo

Photographed by Nadia Masood

She stands there, carefully balancing herself on the board while riding a high wave.  This kangaroo is a she because there’s a cute little joey  in her pouch (if you look closely in the picture, you’ll see the baby’s head).  I heard Australians call the female kangaroo a doe or flyer.

Anyway, you can find her in Zabeel Park, a Dhs 20 million (USD 5.5 million) technology based, recreational theme park in Dubai.  I’ll be posting a lot of pictures of the park in my next post, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, check out these cool places at That’s My World.

I agree… what an odd place for a kangaroo… is the park a water park or something?

Middle East (I have seen this on other blogs) seem to have a big thing for such statues or big monuments in the middle of nowhere! 😀

i’ve been there twice, but can’t ever get away from the bbq area while there’s light.
i mean FOOD is so much more enticing.
but i really want to try the boating there…did you?

I’ve traveled by sea so much already that boating has lost its appeal 😀
